250th anniversary of William Gilpin's Wye Tour
Chepstow Walkers are Welcome are thrilled to be partnering with the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Team to mark 250 years since William Gilpin (1724-1804) effectively launched the concept of tourism with his 'Observations on the River Wye . . . made in the Summer of the year 1770'.
What better way to celebrate Gilpin's work but to spend time retracing his steps through the Wye Valley? During June we will be walking from Monmouth to Chepstow over two days, further details will be published here as soon as they are finalised. If you would like to register an interest please let us know via our contact page.
