Gin and a Real Tonic! *** SOLD OUT ***
With plenty of varied scenery, this walk takes in Wye Valley woodland, magnificent views and a stop at Cleddon Falls, where the stream tumbles down steep wooded hillside to Llandogo. Particular features of the walk are many old stone walls and stiles, plus a ruined lookout tower dating back to the 17th century, which was apparently used to oversee French prisoners building the walls. On our return to Catbrook the team at Silver Circle Distillery have offered a tour of the home of delicious Wye Valley Gin.

The epic Newport Transporter Bridge straddles both sides of this unique landscape and is one of only six operational transporter bridges left world-wide from a total of twenty constructed. It offers breath-taking views of the mouth of the River Usk, the Severn Estuary and the intriguingly named Level of Mendalgief….
We will ascend the 277 steps to the top of the eastern tower, crossing this iconic structure to descend on the Wentlooge side of the Levels for the return trip back across the River Usk on the amazing gondola.
