Dewstow Golf Course is situated just off the A48 Newport to Chepstow road about 1 mile from Caerwent, signposted towards Caldicot.
The walk takes you through woods and fields and lovely views to the Wentwood and the Severn Estuary. Look out for the Totem Pole.

From the Car Park cross the road and take the lane to the right of the main Clubhouse. Walk until you reach a gate on the left with a signpost 'Highmoor Hill'
Go through the gate and onto the Golf Course. Watch out for flying Golf Balls! Please also show respect and pause whilst golfers are taking their shots. Go straight ahead behind the green and the 15th tee, veering left below the hill to a dirt path and a pond onthe left. Cross the stile on the right and second stile,veer left up the bank and proceed until you reach a tarmac lane.
At the junction turn right and then left over a stile with a signpost to 'Minnetts Wood'. Go left across the field to a stile in the corner. Enter the wood and follow the path veering right until you see open fields on the right and go into the field via stile. Walk straight down the hill to a stile and gate. There are lovely views of Gray Hill and Wentwood on your right. Go over the stile and onwards, turning right then left on to a broad forestry path. (This used to be known as the 'Kings Highway' and was the main route between Caerwent and Rogiet. Continue on this path for half a mile making time to look at the view of the Severn Estuary until you come to a Gwent Willdlife Trust Reserve on your left. A few yards past this is a stile.
Cross the stile and climb the hill, making for the stile near Windmill Cottage. the remains of the windmill are now sadly covered in ivy. Turn left to the wood cross a stile and enter the wood called Rogiet Brake. Take the right hand path, then turn right and follow the wire fence until you reach the Golf Course.
Turn right, go up the hill and turn left to walk past the Totem Pole carved by local craftsmen. Continue across the course to the road. Turn right and then left at the junction. On your right you will see a stile up a couple of steps. (At this point you can return to the golf Course Car Park, via the road) Cross this and go straight ahead for 100 yards to the top of the course where two paths join (one is short to a gold tee). Take the longer one which bisects the course with a line of trees on your left. Follow the path down through the course until the hedge at the bottom of the course. Turn left, following the hedge line to your right, turning left again following the edge of the course. About 125 yards the is a stile on your right go over following the path which brings you to your starting point.
